TURNER – Pastor Nate Colson of the Turner Village Church announces Holy Week events at the church.

A Maundy Thursday communion candlelight service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24. On Good Friday, March 25, there will be a free movie, “The Passion of the Christ,” on a big screen at 6:30 p.m.

The Easter Sunday Sonrise service will be held at 7 a.m. at the church followed by breakfast at 8. The Easter morning worship service will at at 10:30 a.m.

The public is welcome at all these events.

Bake sale

FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Auxiliary will hold an Easter bake sale starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, in the hospital lobby. A variety of baked items will be offered, with proceeds from the sale benefiting the hospital.

Taxes prepared

FARMINGTON – The Western Maine Assistance Program is still scheduling appointments for those people eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

The program to date has prepared federal tax returns for 86 individuals totaling more than $146,564 in refunds, included in that $67,814 of Earned Income Tax Credit. The program is offered at the University of Maine at Farmington Computer Lab. Persons interested in scheduling an appointment should call 645-3764, ext. 5550, or toll free 1-800-645-9636, ext. 5550.

LIVERMORE – New Norlands Grange 580 will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the home of Emily Pike, 493 Turkey Lane. March Madness will be the program.

Church event

Sunrise service

STARKS – An Easter sunrise service will be held at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, March 27, at the Harold Nutting residence in West Mills. Call for more directions. The service will be followed by an Easter morning breakfast, open to the public, at Memorial Hall on Route 43.

Easter worship and celebration of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ Starks Presbyterian on Route 43. For more information about these services, call 696-5496.
