LEWISTON – The Vineyard Christian School had a special visit from soldiers of the 133rd Engineer Battalion who have just returned home from Iraq.
They were stationed in Mosul, Iraq, since March 2004.
Tony Sturgis, John Sawyer and Rob Salvato shared photos and stories of their year in Iraq with students in grades preschool through three.
The men spent their time in Iraq building new roads, hospitals and other buildings for the Iraqi people.
Many students spent the past year praying for the men and women to return home safely and were excited to have them visit the school. Sturgis is the older brother of Brianna Sturgis, a first-grader, and Tanner Sturgis, a preschooler.
