RUMFORD – The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Rumford and the River Valley is nearing. Those interested can register their teams by calling the American Cancer Society local Chairwoman Diane Mitchell at 364-8358.
Former and current cancer patients, their families, businesses, civic organizations and the public are invited to take part in the event, which will run from 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, until 11a.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Hosmer Field Complex.
Relay for Life is a family-oriented event where participants camp out at the relay site, and when they are not taking their turn walking, they take part in activities and entertainment.
Teams from companies, churches, organizations, hospitals and schools collect donations and can win individual and team prizes for their efforts.
