YORK – Alma Louise Edwards Churchill, 91, of West Farmington, died Sunday, March 27, at the York Hospital with her family by her side. She had spent the day with them celebrating Easter, having dinner and fellowship.

She was born Aug. 25, 1913, in East New Portland, a daughter of Albion K.P. and Sadie Ellen (Smith) Edwards. She attended East New Portland schools, graduating from Central High School.

In 1933, she married Stuart Mahlon Churchill and raised their four sons. She worked in the dining hall at UMF for 10 years preparing salads. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with her family. She also enjoyed raising a vegetable garden, canning and cooking for her family. The fruits of her labor in the kitchen will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have eaten at her table.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Albion and his wife, Leora, of New Vineyard, Evan Alston and his wife, Rosalie, of Eliot, Arnold Roy and his wife, Vicki, of Clearwater, Fla., and Elwin Frank and his fiance, Betty Dunham of Industry; grandchildren, Keith and his wife, Marie, of Minot, Douglas and his wife, Wanda, of New Vineyard, Catherine Parker and her husband, Steven, of Mechanic Falls, Michael and his wife, Barbara, of Eliot, Christopher Adams and his wife, Miki, of San Diego, Calif., Andrea Adams and friend, Will, of Clearwater, Fla., Samantha Churchill of Clearwater, Fla., Kimberly Churchill and her fiance, Mike Plourde, of Athens and Adam Churchill of Athens; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Winston and Merton Edwards of Farmington; two sisters, Mildred Davis of New Sharon and Edith McCleery of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Marshall Edwards; and three grandsons, James Linwood, Matthew Sean and Eric Wayne Churchill.
