SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Roland M. Brimigion, 88, died March 22, at Point Loma Convalescent Home in San Diego, Calif.

He was born May 9, 1916, in Bangor, the son of Samuel and Laura (Frost) Brimigion. He attended Lewiston High School in Lewiston. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked as a mail carrier in Auburn/Lewiston for many years before moving to California with his wife in 1962. While in California, he worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles as a hearing officer. He loved to golf and be near his daughter and grandsons.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Spire of San Diego, Calif.; grandsons, Gregory of La Mesa, Calif., and Jay and his wife, Theresa, of Temecula, Calif.; great-grandsons, Jayson, Patrick and Troy; two brothers, Samuel Brimigion of Danville, Calif., and Stephen Brimigion of New York City; one sister, Beryl Webb of Huntsville, Ala.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, June (Enman) Brimigion, on Dec. 1, 1997; and three brothers, Laurel, Custer and William.
