LEWISTON – Lewiston Elks Lodge 371 installed its slate of officers for the year on March 26 at the Elks Lodge on Lisbon Street. The ceremony was attended by 130 people from across the state. David Strand of the Bath Elks Lodge, who served as the installing officer, officiated.

Installed as officers were: Exalted Ruler, Jackielynn Farrell; leading knight, Raymond Gagne Sr.; loyal knight, Arthur Bentz; lecturing knight, Robbie Gagne; secretary, Angelo Andrianos; treasurer, William Mahar; esquire, Christopher Gendron; chaplain, Rosanne Roy; inner guard, Annie McInnis; tiler, Raymond Gagne Jr.; organist, Connie Lambert; five-year trustee, Elmer Berry; four-year trustee, Richard Lafond; three-year trustee, Rodney Woodrum; two-year trustee, Todd Gagne; and one-year trustee, Fred Bernard.

Outgoing Exalted Ruler Robbie Gagne thanked the officers and members for a great year and presented several awards to volunteers and members.

The Elk of the Year Award was presented to Joseph Strout; Officer of the Year Award, Secretary Angelo Andrianos; Outstanding Member Awards, Pat Bolduc and Richard Lafond; Citizen of the Year, Martine Gagne; and special recognition award, Raymond Gagne Sr.

In her address to the membership, incoming Exalted Ruler Jackielynn Farrell stated that the lodge will continue to focus on its charitable works, but will put a special emphasis on providing more youth activities for the community.

For Farrell, the position of exalted ruler is not new, as she served in that position during 2002-2003. She is the first woman in the state to serve in that position twice.

The Lewiston Lodge is one of 21 lodges in the state as part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The order sponsors programs that support charities, Americanism, drug awareness, scholarships, youth and veterans.
