LEWISTON – Pine Tree Council, Boy Scouts, Abnaki District Executive Matt Mower has announced that several packs from the district have invited boys and parents interested in joining the Cub Scout program to sign up at upcoming pack meetings and activities.

At the sign-up nights the boys and their parents will get a taste of Cub Scouting and what activities the packs do. They will also be informed on how to get involved.

“A lot of people think the only time you can join Scouting is in the fall,” said Mower. “But many of the fun things in Cub Scouting, such as going to camp and doing many other outdoor activities, happen during the spring and summer. Why not have your boys join now when there is so much to do?”

Fliers promoting sign-up nights have been sent to many schools. For more information on how to sign up with a pack in the area, interested parents should contact Mower at 797-5252, ext. 33, or mmower@bsamail.org.

Cub Scouting is for boys in first through fifth grades. The Abnaki District services the Scouting program in most of Androscoggin and Oxford counties.
