OSSIPEE, N.H. – Rex A. Horrocks, 84, formerly of Hampton, N.H., died April 6, at the Mountain View Nursing Home.

He was born in Wilton, Nov. 3, 1920, the son of the late William A. and Viola B. (Tobin) Horrocks. He was raised in Wilton and was a graduate of Wilton Academy. He also attended the University of Maine.

He was a design engineer for the Pratt Whitney Company, East Hartford, Conn., for 32 years. After his retirement he moved back to Wilton for 10 years, moving to Hampton, N.H., in 1983 and Ossipee, N.H., in 2000.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion of Wilton.

Family members include his wife, Catherine M. (Tardif) Horrocks of Ossipee, N.H.; a daughter, Sara E. Pickering of Madison, N.H.; three sons, William A. Horrocks of Hamilton, Mass., John T. Horrocks of Pennsylvania and Rex L. Horrocks of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
