BATH – Richard A. Demers, 63, of 6 Clay Hill Lane, Richmond, died Friday, April 8, at the Winship Greene nursing home in Bath.

He was born June 28, 1941, to Irene E. Demers and Alfred O. Demers, both deceased, and spent his younger years in Rhode Island. He attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, R.I., and graduated from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vt.

For the next few years he worked in the Boston area for several marketing firms, but his love for boating, golfing and skiing lead him to Maine, which he had called home from that day forward.

He spent several years in the Lewiston/Auburn area and was very active in the National Ski Patrol at Lost Valley in Auburn and Evergreen Valley in Kaiser Falls. The last 20 years, however, he lived in Richmond, where he kept his boat and shared a home with his brother, Ronald J. Demers and his son, Richard S. Demers. For the last 15 years until his death, he was the director of membership development for the Better Business Bureau for three states, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.

He is survived by his brother, Ron; his son, Richie, both of Richmond; a daughter, Stacey Geelan of Georgetown; and a niece, Stacey Stravato of Cranston, R.I.
