LISBON – A barbecue in the garden atrium area of the Farwell Mill apartment complex Saturday night resulted in about $1,000 in fire damage, but no one was injured, said Fire Chief P. Sean Galipeau.

A hole about 3 feet by 6 feet was burned in the roof after an occupant decided to barbecue outside her window, Galipeau said. All 82 of the apartments in the large brick building were evacuated, and firefighters were at the scene for about an hour and a half. Two trucks from the Lewiston Fire Department also responded.
