BANGOR – Stephanie M. Hall, 35, of Rome, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, after a courageous battle with brain cancer since her diagnosis in 2002.

She was born in Farmington, Dec. 27, 1969.

She was a graduate of Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, Class of 1988, earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1992 and her master’s degree in education from the University of Maine at Orono in 2000. She was continuing her education toward her doctorate.

She taught school in Phillips, Belgrade and Sidney, before becoming the assistant director of special services for the Messalonskee School District in 2001. She also was involved with Central Maine Inclusive Schools and Maine Association of Special Education Directors. She was the homeless liaison for MSAD 47. In addition, she was active with the Belgrade Bible Church and attended Bible study.

She married Douglas M. Hall on Dec. 18, 1993. She enjoyed working with children with disabilities. The time spent with family and friends was special to her. She liked to scrapbook and read. She loved time on the water at Watson Pond and Lake Onawa in Monson. Her favorite times were watching Klint play sports.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas Merton Hall; her precious son, Klint Douglas Hall; her mother, Carolyn Burbank of Weld; her maternal grandmother, Lillian Demers of Wilton; her father, Duane Burbank; half-sister, Alexis Burbank of North Jay; paternal grandparents, Katherine and Almont Burbank of Wilton; paternal great-grandmother, Edna Davis of Wilton; a sister, Donna White of Weld; nephews, Devin and Dakota Boyd; nieces, Savannah-lyn and Brooke-lyn Boyd, also of Weld; a brother, Christopher; niece, Mikayla Burbank of Salem; many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and many close friends.
