PORTLAND – Three emerging Maine poets will read their work from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Room 215 of the new Abromson Community Education Center on the University of Southern Maine Portland campus. The reading is part of USM’s “Thinking Matters” Day celebrating student scholarship.

The three poets – Mary Snell of North Gorham, David Stankiewicz of South Portland, and Lillian Baker Kennedy of Auburn – are all graduate students studying for their masters of fine arts in the relatively new USM Stonecoast MFA creative writing program. They will be joined by the director of the MFA program, the internationally recognized poet Annie Finch, who will lead the post reading discussion.

For more information contact the Stonecoast MFA office at 780-4423.
