MEXICO – Magicians Scot Grassette and Dennis Labbe of the Society of American Magicians Chapter 174 “Leger De Maine” will perform a benefit show April 17 at the Mexico Recreation Center on Parker Street.

Proceeds will go to the Fourth of July Moontide Water Festival Fireworks, and Mexico Rec Center. The event starts at noon with roller skating until 2 p.m. The magic starts at 3 p.m. There will be a bake sale and craft sale from noon to 5 p.m.

Labbe is from Steep Falls and is vice president of the Maine chapter of Society of American Magicians. Doves, rabbits and other surprise guests are part of his routine.

Grassette of Rumford is the president of the Maine chapter of the Society of American Magicians and will be performing his award winning Lazer Amazer routine, which involves lazers and fazers with manipulations of silks, balls and a silver retractable piece of duct work. Scot’s daughter Kaitlyn has been dabbling in magic and will help her father with a two person, 12 ring, linking ring routine which is a unique, and original presentation of one of magic’s oldest effects.
