The people doing the investigation of the police department were used to working with departments of 100 or more. Next, try to reduce to this small town of five full-time cops? Wilton got what they paid for at the time starting 30 years ago. We shouldn’t complain about it now that our chief “retired” after over 30 years. Work well done.

I say let’s not hurt something that served us well. Remember, we always talked about cutting taxes. Now, it’s get modern.

First I want to say I have attended, since 1995, many selectmen’s meetings and the chief came in once a month with his paperwork in hand and explained everything happening in town. The selectmen and town manager all said, “Good job.” They could have asked questions. No one did at that time.

I say we have too many chiefs in our town with the town manager and selectmen. They should let the police chief do his job and then give a report.

Yes, Wilton was old-fashioned. We saved money. Wilton did its best. Now, let the new chief do his job and modernize, that’s OK. I wish him luck.

I was disappointed in the men who did the investigation. The taxpayers paid the bill, and they couldn’t ask them questions.

Now Wilton will have to get modern and hire a secretary to fill up the computers and keep track of the files, and then the chief can be out on the highway doing his job.
