LIVERMORE FALLS – William “Bump” Riley Sr., 84, a resident of Livermore Falls, died Saturday, April 16, at his home following a long illness.

He was born in Jay on Nov. 2, 1920, the son of James M. and Roxanne Luce Riley. He attended the schools of Livermore Falls.

During the 1930s, he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps with the 1124th company.

On June 20, 1942, he married Rose Alma Signet of East Douglas, Mass.

“Bill” worked at Norwalk Shoe in North Jay as a shoe cutter, retiring in 1975.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years of Livermore Falls; a daughter, Maureen Hamblin and her husband, Steve, of Jay; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Riley of Livermore; a brother, Norman Letalien of Livermore; grandchildren, Bryn Doiron, Kate Carignan, Shawn Riley and Kirk Riley; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Isaac and Erin Doiron, Patrick and Jack Carignan, and Shane and Bryan Riley. He will also be missed by his good friend, Tony Grondin, of Jay.

He was predeceased by his son, William Jr., and three sisters, Pauline Knapp, Evelyn Grondin and Ervine Binette.
