BUCKFIELD – James H. Tucker, of Buckfield, died Saturday, April 23, at C.M.M.C. in Lewiston.

He was born Dec. 29, 1941, the son of Nelson and Bertha (Barrows) Tucker.

He graduated from Buckfield High School in 1960 and married Cynthia Puffer on April 17, 1965.

He served in the Maine National Guard.

He became a master electrician and worked locally.

He was active in the Buckfield Community Church as a deacon. He was a man of great strength and integrity whose faith in Jesus Christ will continue to be an inspiration to us all. He was also an active member of the American Legion, and of the Androscoggin Amateur Club as KB1CNJ.

He had an inventive streak, enjoyed fixing guns, clocks and other things that didn’t work. He enjoyed making useful things, sometimes in old ways.

He was a dedicated father and grandfather.

Besides his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his daughters, Ginger and Hap Gallin of Sumner, Marie and David Doucette of Belgrade, and Irene Tucker of Auburn; grandchildren, Kachira, Heather and Logan; two brothers, Erland and Esther of Poland, and Morris and Lolita of Buckfield; and a sister, Constance Hicks of Buckfield.

His parents and his sister Catherine Pratt have welcomed him in heaven.

He had decided to leave his body to Tufts University for research.
