AUBURN – Geraldine E. Cote, “Gerry,” 82, formerly of Heritage Court, died peacefully at Clover Health Care Facility on Saturday, April 23, after a long bout with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Lewiston, on April 27, 1922, the daughter of Adjutor and Rosaline (Martin) Madore. She attended Auburn schools.

She worked as a fancy stitcher in local shoe factories and later was employed by First National Stores in the meat department.

In 1971, she devoted her life to caring for her beloved autistic grandson, Noel Boisvert, for the first 21 years of his life. He now resides at the John F. Murphy Homes. She was much loved by her family and will be missed greatly.

She is survived by four daughters, Ruth Peters, Beverly Rioux, Judith Fortin and Donna Lachance; two sons, Leon Deletetsky and Paul Cote; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Dominique and Maurice Madore.
