WASHINGTON – U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME) have announced that Maine has received $2,005,906 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The federal funds were allocated as follows:

$139,100 to Bates College in Lewiston for a project on Ah Receptor and Cardiac Adrenergic Signaling. The grant was awarded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences within HHS and is an Academic Research Enhancement Award.

$333,411 to Harrington Family Health Center in Harrington for a Health Center Cluster.

$793,632 to Kathadin Valley Health Center in Patten for a Health Center Cluster.

$300,398 to Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor for a project on leukemia. The grant was awarded by the National Cancer Institute within HHS.

$239,365 to Maine Department of Human Services in Augusta for elder and adult services.

The grant was awarded by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services within HHS

$200,000 to Maine Department of Health and Human Services in Augusta for a project on traumatic brain injury implementation.
