BRUNSWICK – Lillian A. Labbe Chase, 88, a resident of the Mere Point Unit of the Mid Coast Senior Health Care Center, Baribeau Drive, died Thursday, April 28, after a long illness.

She was born in Brunswick, April 7, 1917, the daughter of Dieudonne (John) and Demrise Caouette Labbe, and attended St. John’s School.

She worked for several area businesses, including the Verney Mill, Aubach Shoe Co., and for the Jay Brush Co., retiring in 1979.

On Oct. 28, 1989, she married Russell C. Chase at St. John’s Church in Brunswick. He died March 3, 1994.

She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed traveling, and spent her leisure time knitting and crocheting.

She was a communicant of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, Brunswick, and was a member of the Evergreens.

She is survived by three nieces, Mary L. Morang of Brunswick, Corinne Miner of Sacramento, Calif., and Priscilla Stevens of Jacksonville, Fla.; three nephews, Clarence (Sonny) Gerrish of Topsham, Kenneth R. Gerrish of Norton, Mass., and J. Roger Gerrish of Austin, Texas.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary A. Lamont; and three brothers, Ovila Labbe, Adrien Labbe and Robert Labbe.
