LEWISTON – Alexina C. Poulin, 80, formerly of 27 Pond Road, died peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 1, at Montello Manor Nursing Home where she resided for the past 10 years.
Born in St. Prosper, Quebec, Nov. 22, 1924, a daughter of Alfred and Genoria Dostie Rainville, she was educated in Canadian schools.
She was married to Rosario Poulin who died in 1970. In addition to their own children, she and her husband helped raise three foster children and many boarders.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish and loved to be with her grandchildren.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, listening to the birds and playing pranks. Her family and friends have many wonderful and interesting memories.
She is survived by a daughter Ginette (Ginger) Sherman and her husband, Al, of Lewiston; two sons, Renald Poulin and his wife, Dorothy, of Greene, and Claude Poulin and his wife, Faye, of Bowdoinham; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Michael Morin, Linda Sherman, Candy and Jeff Cloutier, Rodney Poulin, Andy and Maria Poulin, Randy and Hillary Poulin, Amy Poulin and Tony Poulin; six great-grandchildren, Tanner, Garrett, Katelyn, Serena, Mara and Cameron; three sisters, twin sister Alinette Morin, Aurelia Poulin and Laurette Giroux.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you for the loving care received from the staff at Montello Manor and Androscoggin Hospice.
