FARMINGTON – SAD 9 directors voted to accept an agreement that gives administrators about a 2.8 percent pay increase over a two-year period.

Superintendent Michael Cormier said Tuesday’s vote was 11-3, with directors Bob Neal of New Sharon, Jo Josephson of Temple and Charisse Keach of Chesterville opposed.

The agreement leaves health insurance the same, Cormier said, with administrators paying 20 percent of the cost and the district 80.

During the first year of the new agreement, which begins July 1, administrators would receive a flat $1,500, which is less than the rate of inflation, and in the second year they would get a 3.5 percent increase. Overall in the two-year agreement, it’s about a 2.8 percent increase, Cormier said.
