LEWISTON – Carmen M. Morin, 86, formerly of 395 College St., died Tuesday, May 10, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 25, 1919, the daughter of Pierre and Marie Olivier Nadeau. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married Nov. 11, 1948, to Phillip J. Morin, who predeceased her Sept. 18, 1997.

As a devoted wife, she remained at her husband’s side throughout his long illness. Her faith, beliefs and church gave her the inner strength needed after his loss. She was a very caring woman who loved her children and thought the world of her five grandchildren.

She was a homemaker most of her life, though she worked for a time in local shoe shops, and enjoyed reading and music. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, the Ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality and Horizon 55.

She is survived by her daughter, Claire I. Miller and husband, Richard, of Niceville, Fla.; her son, Roger H. Morin and wife, Darryl, of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Ricky Miller of Niceville, Fla., and Philippe and Laura Morin of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Irene Morin of Auburn; a brother, Louis Nadeau and wife, Simonne, of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving sisters, Jeanette, Rose Anna, Gracia and Alice; and brothers, Antonio, Roland and Onesime.
