HEBRON – Sharon Johnson, Hebron Station School’s sixth-grade teacher, had an idea. The students were going on a field trip to Boston in a couple of weeks and they would do a lot of walking.

To increase their endurance, Johnson and the class started running/walking from the school to the road and back in the morning.

It caught on quickly, and other grades wanted to do it as well.

The sixth-grade is back from Boston, but still continuing the routine along with other grades. Now every morning, the third-, fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grades run from the school to the road and back to exercise their bodies and minds.

The sixth grade will hold a bottle drive/bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the school. The money raised will go toward the field trip and end-of-year activities.
