POLAND – Poland Regional High School will host a public forum and barbeque Thursday to introduce Sports Done Right to the community.
Sports Done Right is a federally funded educational initiative sponsored by the University of Maine’s Center for Sport and Coaching. Union 29 schools have been selected as one of the pilot sites to help launch the call to action on behalf of Maine high school athletes.
The first of three community forums will start at 5 p.m. at the high school with a barbeque. At 6 p.m., the forum will begin in the auditorium and the leadership team will formally introduce how it plans to have Sports Done Right in Union 29.
Following the presentation, a group discussion regarding the initiative and what it can offer student-athletes from Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls will take place.
