Dear Sun Spots: I have been collecting the state quarters.
When they first came out, they were plentiful. Now we hardly see any. Are they still being released to the public or are most being sold to dealers? They seem to be the only ones who have them. Thank you for all the people you help. – E. Dumont, Sabattus.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, you might want to consider traveling the Maine Turnpike where you will find a variety of quarters in your change from toll collectors. Sun Spots has picked up a variety of state quarters when paying her tolls.
Dear Sun Spots: Years ago, a young family member was a patient at Pineland Center. Is there any way we can find out what his diagnosis was as we are trying to trace a genetic disease? All family members with any knowledge of him have passed away and after reading your column for years, we decided you were our best chance to find out anything. – Mrs. PW, Auburn.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots would recommend you contact Anne Small or Anthony Douin at the Maine State Archives at (207) 287-5795, to see if they can assist you.
Dear Sun Spots: I have nearly completed an afghan for my daughter, and the color yarn which I am using has been discontinued. I only have five rows left and I have run out of yarn. The yarn is Red Heart color 0855 – dark navy. If anyone has any of the yarn which they would be willing to part with, please call me at (207) 966-2660. – Joan Clough, Hebron.
Dear Sun Spots: Can you please tell me if I am wrong about a disguise?
I have been watching the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” for many years. There is a woman who played Taylor. Her real name is Tylo and now they have brought in this actress who plays Taylor. I am wondering if it’s the person called Tylo or if she is just a replacement. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: According to soapoperadigest.com, Hunter Tylo plays the role of Taylor Hayes Forrester. In addition, according to an online biography at www.imdb.com, her return to “The Bold and the Beautiful” in 2005 as a series regular was a heavily guarded secret by the show. They disguised her and sneaked her on and off the set for nearly two months so that word of her return didn’t leak out.
You might be interested in noting that Tylo was a top fashion model in the ’70s and ’80s. In 1998, she was named one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world by People magazine. She has four children and is part-Cherokee on her mother’s side. She is also an accomplished equestrian bareback rider, has written her autobiography and launched her own cosmetics line.
Dear Sun Spots: I am trying to find someone who may have a chaise longue that they would like to give to away or sell for a small fee. The chaise longue I am looking for is the kind that is an overstuffed, single piece of furniture that one would have in a lady’s bedroom. Anyone wishing to answer my query may call (207) 782-5118 and leave a message and phone number. Once again Sun Spots, thank you for your help. – Anita Poulin, Auburn.
