AUBURN – Helen E. Judd, 87, of Auburn, died Sunday, May 29, at Clover Health Care Facility after a long illness.

She was born Jan. 6, 1918, in Belfast, the daughter of James and Blanche (Dodge) Turner. She lived in Litchfield and Auburn her entire life. She attended Edward Little High School, and graduated from the Bernard School of Hair Fashion.

She operated her Beauty Shop, Kut and Kurl as well as Gilbert’s Beauty Salon in Lewiston. After retiring from hairdressing, she worked in the food service department at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was a member of the West Gardiner Senior Citizens and was past chaplain.

She is survived by her son, Dan Murphy and his wife, Sue, of South Dakota; granddaughters, Michelle Higgins, Lisa Morrissette, Kelly Wilcox; grandsons, Michael Jones, Roger Murphy Jr., Michael Murphy, and James Murphy; along with several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three sons, Melvin, Roger Sr., and Paul Murphy.
