FARMINGTON – The public is invited to attend a celebration of the life of Gwilym Roberts at 3 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Nordica Auditorium, Merrill Hall, University of Maine at Farmington.

Following the celebration, a reception will be held at UMF’s North Dining Hall, Olsen Student Center.

Roberts, who died at age 88 on May 10, was a well known and well liked historian, writer, former professor, coach and alumni activist at the University of Maine at Farmington for more than six decades.

Family members participated in a service held at Old South Congregational Church on May 14, and the family will also attend the UMF celebration.
