BRUNSWICK – Bowdoin College will be the scene of the second annual Great Maine Tennis Festival, Saturday, June 11.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farley Field House outdoor tennis courts.

The Festival is sponsored by the Mid-Coast Maine Tennis Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of tennis. There is no cost. The event is designed for any level player, from complete novice to the experienced.

During the day there will be assorted activities for youngsters, prizes and exhibitions.

Lewiston plans league

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Recreation and Parks Department is sponsoring a Men’s and Women’s Singles Tennis League starting the week of June 20. There will be A, B and C divisions. League play will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Franklin Pasture Tennis Courts next to Lewiston High School. Again serving as program director is Anita Murphy. Entry fee is $40 for Lewiston residents and $50 for non-residents. More information is available by contacting the LRD at 782-5951.
