LEWISTON – Therese Y. Paradis, 81, of 8 Moody St., Lewiston, passed away on June 3, at her home with family by her side.

Born in Auburn, on Sept., 26, 1923, she was the daughter of Valere and Yvonne Gilbert Gagne. Educated in local schools, she worked as weaver at the Cowan Woolen Mill.

She married Wilfrid Paradis on June 21, 1947, after he came home two years after World War II. She was member of Holy Cross Church.

After her second child, Claire, she was a homemaker, and answered phones for her husband’s business, A.C. Paradis Service Co.

She loved to cook while trying new recipes, loved the Red Sox, and also loved watching golf. She enjoyed her eight grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Mark and wife, Ronella Paradis, of Lewiston, Jean and wife, Connie, of Lakeland, Fla., and Marcel and wife, Candice Paradis, of St. Cloud, Fla.; one daughter, Joan and husband, Phil Theberge, of Lewiston; three granddaughters, Nicole and husband, Marlin Poteet, Jaime and husband, Todd Spencer, and Claire Paradis; five grandsons, Zachary Paradis of Chicago, Philip Paradis of California, Jared Theberge and Jake Theberge of Lewiston, and Alann Paradis of Florida; and three great-grandchildren, Whitney Foster, Garrett Poteet and Hunter Spencer.

She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Claire Paradis Baker; a sister, Rita Lagueux; and a brother, Roland Gagne.
