BOWDOIN – Joshua Peter Fitzgerald, 24, of Sabattus, died unexpectedly due to an accident in the early morning of June 5.

He was born in Lewiston, on April 14, 1981, son of Peter A. Fitzgerald and Bonnie E. Gould. He grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 2000.

He was a determined and motivated young man, already having owned his own house in Sabattus with his future fiance, Amanda Bradstreet, and his best friend Dude, their dog, “oohhh Dude.”

He was a hard worker and proud employee of Glen Dube Excavation. As a hobby, he collected different varieties of guns and knives. In his free time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, and was an avid fan of Ryan Newman. He loved trucks, and the sensitive side of him found joy in animals and especially babies. He will sadly be missed by anyone and everyone who has entered his life.

He is survived by the love of his life, Amanda Bradstreet, of Sabattus; his father, Peter Fitzgerald and his fiance, Debbie Hatch, of Litchfield; his mother, Bonnie and her husband, Jeffrey Gould, of Lewiston; two sisters, Breanna and Makayla Gould of Lewiston; two brothers, Aaron and Eric Fitzgerald of Lisbon Falls; his grandmother, Dorothy Fitzgerald of Lisbon Falls; future in-laws, Michael and Ellen Bradstreet of Sabattus; close friends, Alan and Diane LeBlanc of Lewiston; special friends, the “Barn Yard Bulliez”; and several childhood church friends and families.

He is predeceased by his grandfather, Peter A. Fitzgerald; his grandparents, Edwin and Reta Piirainen; and a very special cousin, Jacob Poynter.
