LEWISTON – Barbara Elizabeth Buiniskas, 82, died peacefully with her family by her side, at Central Maine Medical Center on June 12.

She was born in Lewiston, daughter of the late George K. and Elizabeth C. Merrill. She was a longtime member of the Auburn community and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1939.

She most recently worked at the Custom Stitchers Shoe Factory until her retirement in 1982. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. Her favorite pastimes were shopping, traveling and, most importantly, her family.

She will sadly be missed by her children; two daughters, Sharon Murray and her husband, Thomas, of Brandon, Fla., and Lesa Watson and her husband, William of Litchfield; two sons, Frank Jr., and his wife, Mabel Buiniskas, of West Bethel, and Neal and his wife, Tina, of Lisbon; a sister, Francis Caudle and her husband, Derek, of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Russell and his wife, Angie Merrill, of Litchfield; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special family friend, Francine Willitte.

She was predeceased by her great-great-granddaughter, Kyilee Anderson; and one brother, Norman B. Merrill.
