NORWAY – “Dare to Move” is the theme of Art Moves Studio show at 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Residencies are winding up at area schools with the hope that all students will perform in the Norway Summer Festival’s free dance showcase from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 9, on the stage at the Norway Town Office lawn.

Favorite returning professionals include middle eastern dancer Josie Conte, hip-hop phenom Bruce Tracy and Karen Montanaro, who blends mime and dance to tell stories of depth and character. Local students will be featured, and anyone who would like a chance to perform may call Debi Irons at 743-5569 or e-mail her at artmoves@megalink.net.

Saturday morning master classes will be held at Art Moves Dance Studio, 13 Cottage St., by Conte, Tracy and Montanaro. Inanna will host a drumming workshop at the dance stage at 9:30 a.m. Brochures will soon be available.

Friday, July 8, Inanna will return for a concert with the Art Moves Dance Co. Conte will join them in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School auditorium. Seats will be pulled back to provide of dancing room.

Tickets are $10 in advance at Books’ n’ Things in Oxford and Bethel and Pick-A-Lily on Main Street. Admission will be $15 at the door.

All residency participants and festival dancers receive free admission to all Art Moves Dance Festival events.
