FRYEBURG – Oxford County Sheriff Skip Herrick has announced the Senior Appreciation Day picnic will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds.
The picnic is sponsored by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD Program (crime prevention for senior citizens), area law enforcement agencies and Oxford County Business.
The event is free and the day will include popcorn, coffee, doughnuts, a picnic lunch, ice cream and cake. A birthday party will be held for Oxford County’s 200th birthday.
There will be an informational booth, musical entertainment, Chinese auction to help fund TRIAD projects, fudge/book sale, 50/50 tickets and door prizes.
This year there will be an added feature. The Oxford County Bicentennial Quilt, made and put together by Oxford County residents as part of the 200-year celebration for Oxford County 1805-2005, will be on display.
