BANGOR – Dirigo Girls State will hold its 59th session at Husson College during the week of June 19 to 24.
Delegates are selected from girls who have completed their junior years in high school. They will role play in mock government sessions to learn more about how town, county and state governments are designed to operate in Maine. Speakers will include Sen. Susan Collins and Gov. John Baldacci.
The week will culminate on Friday with an afternoon inauguration and reception. That night the graduation and awards program will be held and the two delegates who have been selected to attend Girls Nation in Washington will be announced.

Alumni weekend
KENTS HILL – Kents Hill School welcomes back all alumni to Alumni Weekend from Friday to Sunday, June 17 to 19. Highlights will include trips to Hallowell and Boothbay Harbor, the annual lobster bake, golf tournament, alumni tea and an evening concert with singer/songwriter Scott King ’83.
All alumni up to the class of 2000 are invited to attend. The class of 1955 will celebrate its golden reunion at Blethen House on Saturday and the class of 1980 will note its 25-year reunion at a reception in the Hansen Quadrangle on Saturday.
