SABATTUS – The Sabattus Pond Watershed Partnership and Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District are co-sponsoring a camp road workshop from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 23.

The workshop will be held in two parts, the first at the Sabattus Town Hall and the field session on the Marr’s Point Road. The field session will include a training session for those interested in learning to operate a Front Runner grader/rake, with instruction provided by Russ Lanoie.

Phil Curtis of Maine Local Roads Center will be on hand to discuss basic road building and maintenance of gravel roads. Susan Redmond, Maine Department of Transpiration, will provide information on state regulations.

The charge for the workshop is $10 a person, and refreshments will be provided. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and will be able to rent a Front Runner from the conservation district for use on their own gravel road. The workshop will qualify for contractor recertification credits.

To register, contact Androscoggin Valley SWCD at 753-9400, ext. 400. Registrations should be received by June 17.
