LISBON – Coombs Mountfort American Legion Post and Unit 158 will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, for Post Everlasting. The regular meeting will start at 7. A light lunch to follow.The next meeting will be held Sept. 27.

Seniors will meet

AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. The board of directors will meet at 10. A raffle will take place along with the pot-of-gold drawing. Tickets will be on sale for the July 20 chicken barbecue. Bingo will be played following the meeting and bag lunch.

Two guests were welcomed at the June 15 meeting, Shirley Thiriet and Paula Mikkelsen. New officers for the 2005-2006 season were installed by Lucia Cowles. Anita Nadeau, who was elected corresponding secretary, will be unable to fill the office. George Remillard was named to that position.

Attendance winners were Phyllis Latlippe and Roger Briggs. Pot-of-gold winners were Barbara Hinkley, Lucy Cowles and Anita Nadeau. Bingo was played after the luncheon.

Magic act

LEWISTON – Lewiston Recreation and Parks Department and Auburn Parks and Recreation Department will start their 26th Wednesdays In The Park season at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the Multi-Purpose Center with a performance by magician B.J. Hickman.

The program is for the entire family and all are welcome. This performance is sponsored by the Lewiston Hannaford’s store.
