LEWISTON – Sandra L. “Sandy” Kerr, 58, of Peru, died Tuesday, June 28, at the Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston. She was a lifelong resident of the area and resided on Auburn Road in Peru.

She was born in Rumford, on April 18, 1947, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Stults) Sylvester. She graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1965, and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C.

For many years, she served as postmaster for the U.S. post office in Peru. She was a member of the Dixfield American Legion Post 100 Auxiliary, member of the West Peru Baptist Church and member of the Dixfield Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading and cooking, and especially loved her family and grandchildren.

She was married in Peru on April 2, 1966, to Eric L. Kerr, who survives of Peru. Other survivors include a daughter, Laurie Theriault and husband, Andy, of Rumford; sons, Eric Kerr Jr., and wife, Timmie, of San Antonio, Texas, and Aaron Kerr and wife, Christina, of Stockton, Calif.; her father, Henry Sylvester and wife, Phyllis, of Peru; two brothers, Andy Sylvester and wife, Jean, of Hebron, and John Sylvester and companion, Kim, of Peru; two sisters, Debbie Jenkins and husband, George, of Peru, and Candace Porter and husband, Tim, of Peru; six grandchildren, Matthew Theriault Sr., and wife, Megan, of Rumford, Joshua Theriault of Rumford, Forrest, Ashleigh and Cullan Kerr of San Antonio, Texas, and Kevin Kerr of Stockton, Calif.; and a great-grandson, Matthew Theriault Jr., of Rumford.
