LEWISTON – The Timothy J. Mynahan Foundation announces the TJM Scholarship recipient for 2005. The $2,500 scholarship has been awarded to Adam Wilding, a 2005 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Criteria for selection of the scholarship are based on academic and athletic excellence and commendable leadership ability.
Wilding is a three-sport varsity athlete. As team captain for soccer, ice hockey and tennis, he achieved notable athletic and leadership excellence in all three sports. His extraordinary ability earned him the distinction of being named to Bruce Glazer’s Varsity Club, the All-Academic Varsity Soccer and varsity hockey teams, the All-State Tennis team, recipient of the Varsity Club Award, and the Auburn-Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame President’s Award to name a few.
Wilding further distinguished himself by achieving academic excellence throughout his high school years. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. He has also demonstrated a strong sense of community involvement by logging numerous mentor hours for the “Big Brother” program and serving as a volunteer for local youth athletic programs. His accomplishments are exemplified by earning him the 2005 Mayoral Citation of Excellence Award.
Wilding is attending Merrimack College in Andover, Mass., in the fall. He is the son of Dain and Venise Wilding of Lewiston.
