AUBURN – Yvonne Doucet, 94, of 47 Mower Ave., Lewiston, died Friday, July 15, at Odd Fellows Home after a short illness, with her family by her side.
Born in Livermore, on July 16, 1910, the daughter of Archelas and Soufrenie (Veilleux) Chouinard, she was a resident of this community since 1927.
In 1931, she married Mr. Damien Bourque, who died Jan. 25, 1950.
She was employed in the local shoe industry as a fancy stitcher, and also worked 30 years at her day-care nursery, until her retirement in 1975.
Yvonne was a member of Ladies of St. Anne’s, Saints Peter and Paul Parish and Lewiston Senior Citizens.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Conrad (Ange Aimee) Boisvert of Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. Richard (Claudette) Bussiere of Lewiston, Ms. Pauline Gaddy of Lewiston, and Ms. Jacqueline Gravel of Poland; one son, Mr. Norman Bourque of Florida; one sister, Mrs. Rose Delima Marois of Cowansville, Canada; seven grandchildren, Michael Sr., Damien, Tina, Deborah, Sandra, Marc and Christine; six great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Aaron, Amber, Cameron, Katlin and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Antoinette McDonald, Graziella Fortier and Aurore Chouinard; one brother, Ronaldo Chouinard; and one grandson, Andre Bussiere.
