LOVELL – The 30th annual Arts and Artisans Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the New Suncook Elementary School, Route 5. The fair is the major benefit for the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library, and it will include a used-book sale.

Each vendor must have been juried by the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. This year there will be 51 returning artists and eight artists new to the show.

Their crafts include jewelry, blown glass, art, fiber arts, pottery and woodenware.

Among those new to the fair this year will be Diane Cole of Raymond, whose baskets, while evoking traditional Appalachian basketry techniques, include a variety of decorative touches, and Christine Rugullies of South Portland, who has been creating collectible dolls, each numbered, since 1987.

Three artists will demonstrate their techniques in woodturning, glassblowing and weaving.

The event is free and open to the public. Homemade sandwiches and desserts will be sold in the cafeteria, and a raffle will feature several items donated by participating artists. The raffle items are on display at the library, Route 5, Lovell Village.
