LEWISTON – Michael Lawrence Barrett, 35, of Rita Avenue, passed away on Monday, July 25, surrounded by his family at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Augusta, on March 21, 1970, the son of Lawrence and Gloria (Black) Barrett.

He was a very special person who touched many people’s lives. We will always remember his wonderful smile and sense of humor, and he will forever be in our hearts.

His favorite things included: country music, shopping and most of all, going out to eat with family and staff at John F. Murphy homes.

He was the youngest brother in a family of seven. He is survived by siblings, Norman Barrett and his wife, Karen, of Hollis, Dana Barrett and his wife, Kari, of Richmond, Jane Deane and her husband, Mike, of Jackman, Laurie Lee and her husband, Reed, of Wayne, Marlene and Wayde Reeve of Winthrop, and Charlene Struck and her husband, Mark, from Winthrop. He had many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence E. Barrett; and his mother, Gloria M. Barrett.

Our sincere thanks goes out to the ICU staff and doctors at Central Maine Medical Center for the great care that Michael received. We would also like to thank our friends, family and employers for getting us through this difficult time, and the people at John F. Murphy homes.
