RANGELEY – The Rangeley Sesquicentennial Committee invites the public to attend Rangeley’s 150th anniversary celebration this weekend, July 29, 30 and 31.
Saturday is the big day, starting with a parade at 10 a.m.
Following the parade at noon, there will be a media gathering at the Rangeley Inn with Gov. John Baldacci, Reps. Tom Allen and Michael Michaud, Lac Megantic, Quebec, Mayor Colette Roy Laroche and local officials.

Speakers at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Park will include Steve Philbrick, chairman of the Rangeley Sesquicentennial Committee, Baldacci, Michaud, Allen, Franklin County Commissioner Fred Hardy and Laroche.
Other speakers will be Noel Turner representing the Rangeley Family descendants from the United States and Robert David Alexander Rangeley representing the Rangeley Family descendants from the United Kingdom; Claire V. Tusch, Grand Master of Masons in Maine; Rotary District Gov. Leni Gronros; Rangeley Board of Selectmen Chairman Jim Jannace; Rangeley Town Manager Perry Ellsworth; and Sam Claro, known as Grey Wolf, who has tied a sesquicentennial fishing fly.
