PORTLAND – Ralph Sacre, 91, of South Portland, formerly of Lewiston, died on July 25, at Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 4, 1913, the son of Victor and Hattie Sacre.

In his younger years, he enjoyed raising champion beagles. He was also an avid fisherman and golfer.

He was the owner of Sacre’s Discount Corner in Lewiston, until he retired to Florida for the past 30 plus years. He recently returned to Maine and lived at the Betsy Ross House to be closer to family.

He is survived by his wife, Marion Sacre; son, James Sacre; daughter, Natalie Schlicht; sister, Margaret Sheehan; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Hattie Sacre; and a son, Victor Sacre.
