RANGELEY – “Rangeley Quilts: Then and Now,” a two-day show sponsored by Pieceful Pine Quilt Guild on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12 and 13, will showcase the sesquicentennial quilt created for the Rangeley Historical Society as part of Rangeley’s 150th summer celebration.

A central appliqu interpretation of the view from the new Route 4 scenic overlook is surrounded by pieced blocks whose names celebrate outdoor life in the Rangeley region.

Designed by Rangeley fabric artist, Anne Walker of Sunflower Studio, the quilt was pieced by male and female quiltmakers with Rangeley connections and completed with the interpretive machine quilting of Carol Perkins of Threads Galore.

Also on display will be several antique quilts of historical significance, as well as pieces created by guild members and friends.

The show, to be held at the Rangeley Congregational Church and Barn, will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 13, with luncheon available from the church Women’s Fellowship Circle.

Admission donations of $3 will be accepted at the door.
