Concert canceled

RUMFORD – Due to poor ticket sales, a decision was made to cancel the 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, concert performance of the DaPonte String Quartet presented by St. Athanasius and St. John’s Church Centennial. For those who have purchased a ticket, a refund will be given at the parish office on Franklin Street next door to St. Athanasius and St. John School or call Doris at 364-8509.

Meet postponed

NEWRY – The Monday, Aug. 15, Board of Selectmen’s meeting has been postponed until 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22.

Luncheon set

PERU – The Families in Crisis Task Force will hold a community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Rockemeka Grange Hall, 92 Peru Center Road. The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad and dessert. Donations will be accepted.

Class lunch

MEXICO – The luncheon for the Stephens High School class of 1945 will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Covered Wagon Restaurant. Call Connie at 364-8785 for reservations.

Second workshop

RUMFORD – A second workshop will be held by Gemma Morrill-Dreher on the art of making gelatin plate monotypes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 and 18. The cost is $75. Sign up at Pennacook Art Center. Space is limited and applicants will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
