LEWISTON – Steve Roop and George Hopkins won the 2005 Apple Valley Golf Course Team Match Play Championship, beating Peter Wade and Maurice Sampson. It was close all the way and all square after 18. Roop-Hopkins sealed the crown on the first extra hole, with Hopkins scoring a birdie 3, net eagle.

Garrett Coulombe of Sabattus recorded a hole-in-one (double eagle) on August 19. He used his driver on the 235-yard #1 hole. Witnessing the feat were Justin Camire, David Gregoire and Lance Vallee.
