AUBURN – Ellen Perreault died peacefully at home on July 13.

Born in Shrewsbury, Mass., she resided for many years in Worcester, and lived in Maine since 1998.

She was a chemist, writer, carpenter, cook, gardener, knitter, and unique woman. She held a variety of interesting jobs, including staff positions in the chemistry departments at Worcester State College and Clark University, in research and development at Bay State Abrasives, at the U.S. Census Bureau, with the Maine Turnpike, and as entrepreneur of her own natural body products business, Maine Naturally.

Those close to her knew Ellen to be gentle, generous, and witty. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her beloved partner, Diane Belanger. She also leaves her mother, Mary Bradanick; two sisters, Lois Gannon and her husband, Tommy, and Laurie Ritter and her husband, Larry; two cherished nephews, Taylor and Maxwell Ritter; and her brother, Paul Perreault, and two nieces, Vivian and Monique. In the Belanger family she leaves Kathy, Gerard and Karen, Michael and Sarah and their children, Lily and “Sweet Baby James;” and Donna and Lois Scharps.
