FARMINGTON – Lucille Douglas Davis, 81, of Farmington, died early Saturday, Sept. 3, at Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, formerly of Deer Crossing Appartments.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1923 in Strong, the daughter of Martin and Violetta (Douglas) Stevens.

She was educated in the schools of Strong and married Clarence Davis Sr. in 1946. He died in 1971.

Lucille worked for local shoe companies, retiring in 1989.

She enjoyed knitting, crochetting and fancy needle work.

She was an avid member of her women’s bowling league in Wilton.

Survivors include three stepsons, Clarence Davis Jr. of Turner, and Bernard and Edgar Davis, both of Farmington; five grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by her husband of 25 years; her son, Robert W. Davis Sr.; and three sisters, Olena Witham, Mary Spaulding and Hilda Stinchfield.
