Relief events
WILTON – Students, staff and volunteers from Academy Hill School and Cushing School are organizing hurricane relief events.
The schools will sponsor two events on Saturday, Sept. 17. They will hold a bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon and students will host a bake sale from 10 a.m. to noon at Wal-Mart.
The schools kicked off efforts with a hat day on Sept. 9. Students paid a small fee in order to wear their hats in school that day.

Benefit sale
WILTON – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will sponsor a benefit yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17, at the church located on the corner of High and School streets.
All proceeds will benefit Hurricane Katrina relief.
Dog classes
AVON – A basic dog training and obedience class will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 27 at the Opportunity Center of North Franklin County. The class will be offered through SAD 9 Adult Education, and the cost is $45 a person and canine. Maximum number of participants will be limited to eight.

Church program
JAY – The Jay Seventh-day Adventist Church will host five nights of presentations on Revelation’s prophecies at 7 p.m. Friday through Tuesday, Sept. 23 to 27. The speaker and director of “It is Written,” Pastor Shawn Boonstra, will appear via satellite for the five-night series as he delves into the Bible to explore the Second Coming. Each presentation will build on the previous one. The church is located on the corner of Oak Street and Route 4, across from Jay Plaza. For more information, call 897-3838.
