FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington will offer a variety of playgroups for infants and toddlers, their parents and caregivers for fall 2005. Group size is limited and registration is required.
The following play groups will be offered:
Monday parent-child playgroup from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The group will focus on parent-child interactions with activities that are planned to facilitate parents’ observations and understanding of their children’s developmental abilities.
Tuesday “Rhythm of Children” play group from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sponsored by the Franklin County Children’s Task Force with the assistance of UMF students, the group offers a nurturing environment for parents and children to play and learn together.
Wednesday UMF play group from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The session offers opportunities for social interaction among children and parents. It is facilitated by a UMF professor and students.
Thursday parent co-op from 9 to 11 a.m. A primary purpose for the group is to help families with the transition between play group and nursery school.
